Best Times To Visit Athens

When should we visit Athens? Like many countries in the mediterranean region such as Spain, Italy or Greece where weather is lovely, beautiful, warm and sunny all year round.

We can travel to Athens at any time of the year but the best time to visit here is between March and May or from  September to November. Weather during these spring and fall months is agreeable and sunshine is pretty much a guarantee. Not to mention, crowds are thinner and hotel and airfare deals are easier to come by than in summer.

Athens Transport Information

  1. Subways in Athens run every four minutes during rush hour and every ten minutes on weekdays. They operate from 5:30 AM to midnight.
  2. Buses are very popular in Athens. They park at the airport and are always available for us to go to the center of Athens or even to anywhere in the region.
  3. It is too easy to move to some attractive destinations in Athens. We can use a tram. The tram network connects the center of Athens to the southern suburbs. The coaches are nice and modern. The only inconvenience is that the tram  is very slow.
  4. Taxis here are quite cheap and convenient. There are so many on the streets of Athens with yellow decorations. The interesting thing about the Athenian taxis is the fact that one can be picked up by a taxi while there already is a passenger in it. Every passenger will be charged the fare shown on the meter.
